Safety Protocol
We are committed to hosting a safe and comfortable event for everyone. Please review the following event safety protocol. This policy may be amended to meet evolving health and safety standards. We continue to monitor information and recommendations from the CDC and the State of Ohio in relation to COVID-19. Any modifications will be listed on this page and publicized through email and social media updates.
Tour de Gem Safety Information
With our partnership with Five Rivers MetroParks and Riverscape Pavilion, we are able to provide a space with ample room for social distancing and space for teams to safely gather and celebrate. We have implemented the following protocol to keep all participants safe:
· Staggered start times to maintain social distancing
· Start/finish chute with ample room for social distancing
· Police & course support
· Modified refueling stations include added sanitization stations and amenities
· Medical and mechanical SAG support
· Boxed lunches after the ride
Participants who would like to change their participation from in-person to virtual should email info@tourdegem.org to make the change to your registration.
If you’re not feeling well, we ask that you please stay home. Your registration will be fully refunded.

Helmets
Helmets are mandatory.
Waiver
Each rider must complete a waiver before participating.
Ohio Cycling Laws
Every person riding a bicycle on the roadway must follow Ohio traffic laws
Cyclists must ride as near to the right as practicable
Bicycles may use full lane
It is mandatory for cyclists to use the bike lane when available
It is mandatory for cyclists to use the shoulder when available
Cyclists are permitted to ride two abreast in a single lane any time on any road
Motorists must maintain 3 feet minimum distance when passing cyclists
