Riding  Together – for Cerebral Palsy Research

Whether you're an avid road cyclist, a weekend cruiser bike enthusiast, or a dedicated supporter of Cerebral Palsy research - the Pedal with Pete Columbus Event is here for you. The 23nd Annual Pedal with Pete Columbus event will be held again this year at Marysville Early College High School (833 North Maple Street, Marysville 43040) on Saturday July 27th (the weekend before Pelotonia).  We’ll have marked routes, rest/food stops and SAG (support and gear) service. For the kids, Nationwide Children's Hospital's Kid's Fest will be there, along with a balloon artist and juggler. There will be a “fun walk, ride and roll” and bike parade. As always there will be food and refreshment served after our riders return from their routes.

Beginning for the first time at Marysville Early College High School (just down the road from the main high school) this year, seven routes (8, 21, 33, 50, 62, 74 and 101 miles) will reveal still more brand-new territory for our riders. We have freshened up last year’s Marysville-based routes to offer an almost totally new 21 mile route and roughly 30% new roads on all the longer routes.  All routes 33 miles and longer will visit our familiar Milford Center rest stop serving sandwiches, snacks, fruit and drinks. The family and beginner oriented 8-mile route stays entirely on trails through lush parklands adjacent to the high school.

For the very first time, all riders doing the 21 miles and longer routes will start by riding through those same peaceful parklands to a brand new pedestrian/bicycle bridge that will land them well outside of central Marysville to jump start their journey onto the quieter rural roads.

The 74- and 101-mile routes will take a scenic route to Mechanicsburg where there will be an added rest/food stop at Goshen Park.  101 milers exploring beyond Mechanicsburg will be rewarded with an extra dose of magnificent rolling to hilly terrain that has delighted our experienced riders in recent years.

Starting in early July, GPS courses will be available under the EVENT - BIKE ROUTES menu on this site.  Downloadable route maps will also available on that page in early July.

Riders will begin their rides between 7:00AM and 10:00AM.
