KidsFest Activity Challenges
2020 Pedal with Pete KidsFest – Activities Challenge
Riding Apart – Yet Together - for Cerebral Palsy Research
This year our Pedal with Pete KidsFest will be virtual, in the form of an Activities Challenge! Complete any of the activities described below, or create your own. Take photos and post them to social media with hashtag #PWP2020. You can also link your personal, or team, page on this site to an Instagram account. When your kids have finished these activities, you can fill out the achievement form as a memento available here.
- Stretch like a Starfish: Gently stretch back, arm, and leg muscles for lifelong good posture. The starfish pose will provide that lovely ‘whole body’ stretch. It’s a great Yoga activity to do after sitting for a while, even with kids
- Artwork: Coloring, sidewalk chalk work
- Tummy Down Time: Relax by just lying on the floor for a period of time
- Jazzy Dance Routine: Make up your own jazzy dance routine and film it for us or take a picture of your favorite jazzy pose.
- Super Person Strengthening: Do some fitness exercises dressed up as your favorite superhero or heroine.
- Outdoor Walking or Chair Exercise: Get some exercise outside, maybe walking the dog, or even inside while sitting in a chair.
- Help Your Parents Out: Wash or dry the dishes, help clean the house, put your toys away, etc.
- Range-of-Motion Evolution:
-
Standing bend – stretch your arms up as high as you can and then bend at the waist to touch your toes
-
Sitting bend – do the same as standing bend, only while you sit on the floor
-
Leg lifts – raise one leg at a time to see how high you can go
-
Tiptoe stretches – stand on your tiptoes to see how high you can reach
-
- Meditation/Relaxation: Practice breathing in and out slowly with your eyes closed and only thinking of your breath.
- Family/Team Workout Session
- Paint rocks and arrange them in an interesting pattern
- Set your own challenge and tell us about it!
