Welcome to our Nest Family Fun Walk fundraising page! We are participating to show our support for Nest Academy RVA. 

Did you know that when Alex gradates high school there are limited to no programs that will support her?   During the pandemic, myself, 3 other special need moms, a Special Educator, and a Speech-Language Pathologist joined together to embark on a journey to revolutionize post High School opportunities for young adults with complex needs. We were determined to develop a program that offered stimulating, exciting, interactive, and personal activities for these wonderful individuals in our community. Passion, determination, vision, and love came together to create Nest Academy RVA and what an amazing four years it has been.  By providing and connecting with high quality programs in the Richmond Community, young adults like Alex have been able to develop new relationships while continuing to learn and grow. Alex has loved being a part of Nest Academy and it has been nothing short of amazing watching non-verbal friends develop their own way of socializing and interacting.  Thanks to Nest Academy Alex has enjoyed boating and fishing trips on the James, music therapy, rock climbing and many other social events that keep her engaged in the community.

Our fundraising efforts will support young adults with special needs in the Richmond community.
