Honorary Attendees
Marley began attending Camp Munroe when she was in first grade. It was, and still continues to be, the “best part of her summer”. She loves to see what friends will be at camp and who her buddy will be for the day. Marley has participated in multiple programs offered by MMI such as speech pathology and physical therapy. She even learned to walk in the halls of the old MMI building. She has participated in the weekend sports programs where she has learned about soccer, basketball, volleyball and hockey while cheering on her friends. She has been a part of swimming lessons as well. She is now active in Social Club, Girls Group and Arnold Stern Teen Group. We had the opportunity to be involved in some family events which were so much fun for everyone. It is such a special place. The programs offered by MMI have helped our family in so many ways. We are grateful for the staff as we know they care so much for our daughter. We are proud and thankful to be a part of the MMI family!
Maddie
Maddie started attending the MMI summer camp when she was very little. She and her younger sister Darby attended as a camper (Maddie) and peer model (Darby). She wasn't able to attend once she started school because the times conflicted with our work schedule but she continued to participate in motion studies and occasional therapy sessions. We picked back up once she was old enough for the Adult Rec Program and she was so fortunate to attend during the pandemic! While the pandemic was hard for everyone, it was particularly isolating for individuals like Maddie who are both medically fragile and physically challenged. Maddie also has Physical Therapy and actually had an appointment the very first day patients were seen in the new building. She was part of the first Building Bridges conference in August and we were so honored to be a part of this group. It was such a wonderful weekend of networking with other people living with Cerebral Palsy and we look forward to the second conference in 2025! What an amazing facility and staff Munroe Meyer has and we could not be happier to be a part of it.
