The Breakthrough Bike Challenge was founded in 2014. Our goal is to raise funds supporting breakthroughs in cancer research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center by uniting for a scenic and inspiring bike ride through Eastern PA's beautiful Oley Valley.
In addition to the in-person bike ride, there are 4 virtual options for participation: biker/spinner, runner, walker, or multi-sport. There is a $25 registration donation per participant for both in-person and virtual options. 100% of your registration donation will support cancer research at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. It will also count towards your fundraising goal!
Since 2014, our ride has donated more than $1,675,000 to support these breakthroughs. Learn more about our cause.
We continue to monitor and follow all COVID-19 policies/guidelines issued by local, state, and federal authorities. While we are hoping to gather in person this September, the health and safety of our participants and volunteers is our highest priority. Should we be permitted to host the event in-person, COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. Please continue to refer to the Breakthrough Bike Challenge website for the most up to date information.
Additional event details will be added as they become available, please check back at a later date.
