The Breakthrough Bike Challenge is pleased to announce that the 2021 BBC is moving forward as a hybrid event – with an in-person ride at the Daniel Boone Homestead on September 12, 2021. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. We will continue to monitor and follow all COVID-19 guidelines issued by local, state, and federal authorities.
Cancer doesn't stop for the COVID-19 pandemic, and neither can we. Since 2013, the Breakthrough Bike Challenge has funded over $1.675 million in cancer research.
100% of the money raised funds breakthrough research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.
We are excited to also offer a virtual component to the event for bikers, spinners, runners, and walkers from August 30 – September 12, 2021. This virtual world opens up the opportunity for an even wider community to get involved, including friends and family both near and far.
All participants can track their progress on the free Strava app and join our Breakthrough Bike Challenge private clubs for biking/spinning and running/walking to track your miles and physical activity.
If you cannot participate in this event but would like to make a donation to the Breakthrough Bike Challenge, please select the DONATE button. You can also donate to an individual or team by searching for their fundraising page under the TEAMS/PEOPLE tab.
